discussion

Remarks Reported in the literature as occurring in the lower Neretva River, where it enters from coastal areas of the Adriatic Sea (Vuković 1963 a, 1977 a; Bogut et al. 2006; Sofradžija 2009). However, data on its distribution are based on very general information and no actual specimens with detailed description have ever been reported (Kosorić 1978; Kosorić et al. 1983; Mikavica 1998). This has led to doubts about its occurrence in BiH. Reliable data about its occurrence in the Neretva River in Croatia were presented by Glamuzina & Dobroslavić (2020). Therefore, more information confirming its occurrence is necessary, with previous reports unreliable.
