Discussion: The name tristriata Illiger, 1815, is a nomen nudum. Microdelphys tristriatus as used by Burmeister, 1856 (= Didelphys tristriata Olfers, 1818 = Sorex americanus Muller, 1776), is the type species of Microdelphys Burmeister, 1856.
