Comentarios: El holotipo y único ejemplar conocido de M. peritus es el mismo citado por B. LUTZ (1954: 161) como Phryniscus (Dendrophryniscus) moreirae, recolectado por el ornitólogo Dr. HELMUT SICK “ ... em certo trecho da Serra da Mantiqueira ... ”.
