Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2. — General distribution: Philippines to Papua New Guinea (Morobe, New Britain). Found on soft bottoms of the continental slope, 60 – 280 m depth. Marine.

New record, based on NTUM 11061 (1 female, 50.7 mm SL, St. DW 4414 - 1, northeast of Bangatang), NTUM 11214 (1 female, 53.4 mm SL, St. DW 4456 - 16, northeast of Bangatang), NTUM 11235 (1 female, 52.0 mm SL, St. CP 4457 - 26, northeast of Bangatang Island), NTUM 11330 (1 male, 38.5 mm SL, St. CP 4492 - 8, off northwest coast of New Hanover), and NTUM 11290 (1 male, 34.1 mm SL, St. DW 4487 - 7, off northwest coast of New Hanover).
